Miss Dai tell us that, we have to made an Essay for the Forum in San Albans. This is my Essay: 

Water has become a scarce natural resource. As a result, people in our country are committed to saving it

Water is a natural resource and it is necessary for the life of animals, plants and humans. 90% of water in our planet is salty, that is to say that it isn’t suitable to be drunk, and 3% of water is fresh, that is to say that it is good for consumption. However, 7% of that fresh water is frozen, which means we can't access it. And this put some countries at risk since half of the population in the world lives in “ water-stressed “ countries. I would really like to know if people in our country are really committed to saving it for the greater good...

On the one hand... I think people are more conscious about the need to save water. Sometimes, Non-Governmental Organizations make campaigns to make people more aware about the need to take care of it. In addition the teachers at school teach students that they have to take care of water and what they can do to save it. Since 1993,  March 22 has become World Water Day.

On the other hand… I notice that people still misuse water. For example, Some people don’t close the tap when they aren’t using it. Such is the case when they brush their teeth. Many times, people, don’t pay attention to leaks. Usually, when people wash their clothes or dishes they waste a lot of water. Do we all know in Argentina that access to clean water and sanitation is our right as well as our responsibility? The United Nations decided on 17 goals to transform our world and make it a better place, and goal number 6 is devoted to ensuring clean water and Sanitation everywhere in the world.

To conclude, people in Argentina waste a lot of water making their everyday activities because we trust we have enough safe water in our country. So to change that, we can use less water, take less time to brush teeth or have a shower, pay attention to leaks, and use water when we really need it. In my opinion, we have to save the resource, as many people die as a consequence of this lack. We are very fortunate because we have a lot of water but we don’t always use it wisely.
